There are some books that have the power to take all of the dark, negative effects of the world and make them go away, if only for the time you spend within their pages. Bob is one of those stories.
Bob is a mystery story, and a fairy-tale, and a testament to childhood, friendship, and family. Bob is pure and warm and sweet.
Five years ago, Livy and her Mom visited Gran in Australia. They had a wonderful time, but distance and life sometimes make it hard for people to get together as often as they should. Now that Livy has a baby sister, they have made the trek from Massachusetts to Australia to visit Gran Nicholas again.
Livy doesn't remember much of her previous trip to Gran's. She doesn't know that she had adventures and friendships and lots of fun. Most importantly, Livy doesn't remember Bob- and he is quite put out of sorts about it.
Bob has forgotten some things too- like who he really is, where he is from, and who his family might be. Bob knows that Livy can help him remember- he just has to help her remember first.
I cozied up with this book and promptly fell in love. I feel like I just received the best hug.
